None of opensource software I use have Telegram channels (Arch, GNU, Linux, sbcl, Gtk, Qt, etc). Telegram is fine. It has the balance of security and the user base. My mate works in an outsource team and they use telegram as a replacement for laggy teams and paid slack for corporate communication.
